We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, the world-renowned leader in live entertainment, into The Sandbox. This landmark partnership brings Cirque’s signature wonder and imagination into the metaverse for the very first time.

COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, Sébastien Borget, shared his excitement in a recent press release, stating: “Cirque du Soleil has constantly redefined live entertainment through imagination and emotion, and we’re thrilled to welcome them into The Sandbox to bring that spirit into the metaverse. This collaboration allows us to explore new forms of immersive storytelling to deliver the thrill and emotion of live spectacle in an interactive format, true to the energy of a theater experience.” 

Echoing that sentiment, Noah Lemieux Bernier, Vice President, Digital and Customer Experience at Cirque du Soleil, added, “We’ve explored digital storytelling before, but this collaboration with The Sandbox opens up new creative avenues,” said. “It enables us to bring the awe and artistry of our performances into immersive virtual spaces, fostering emotional connections with both longtime fans and new audiences in a format that’s interactive, social, and playful. It’s all part of our ambition to bring Cirque du Soleil into fans’ lives from showtime to all the time, with customer experience at the core.”

Two Cirque du Soleil Experiences are Coming Soon

As a part of this collaboration, two new Experiences are being developed in partnership with Cirque du Soleil.

First, LUZIA, a visually stunning celebration of Mexican culture, will be reimagined in The Sandbox. Known for its breathtaking acrobatics, rich visuals, and inventive stagecraft, LUZIA has captivated global audiences since its debut in 2016. Now, Players can go beyond the audience and step directly into the story.

The second show will be revealed soon, but fans can expect the same signature blend of wonder, artistry, and high-flying spectacle that defines Cirque du Soleil.



Exclusive Avatars, Collectibles & Assets

These two new Experiences will be supported by brand-new, handcrafted Avatars, collectibles, and assets that Players and Creators can earn in the new Experiences and purchase in The Sandbox Marketplace.
