CATALYSTs are key components of our ecosystem that determine the rarity and power of Assets minted in The Sandbox. They define how scarce your creations can be, giving them more potential value in The Sandbox Marketplace. In a summer LAND Owner survey, we learned that:

• 66% of LAND Owners want more CATALYSTs
• 35% ranked CATALYSTs as highly important

Who’s Eligible?

At the time of the snapshot date (October 17), this CATALYST claim will be open to all LAND Owners with:

• A valid The Sandbox account
• A completed KYC verification. 

How the Claim Works

The claim is based on four principles:

• The distributed CATALYST will help the smallest LAND Owners publish their first Experience 
• There are bonuses for owning several LANDs
• There are bonuses for owning Premium LANDs 
• There are bonuses for having published Experiences

In more detail, your LANDs earn you points based on their type and usage:

• Standard LAND= 1 point
• Premium LAND= 3 points
• Standard LAND with a published experience= 5 points
• Premium LAND with a published experience= 10 points

Example: If you own seven Standard LANDs, two with published Experiences, plus one Premium LAND, then 7×1 + 2×5 + 1×3 = 20 points.

Your total score determines your CATALYST reward tier. 

When Can I Claim?

The snapshot is planned for October 17, with the claim happening within three weeks later. This date was updated from the previous date communicated on the LAND owner channel, as we were waiting for KYC to be operational, and we wanted to give everybody a chance to complete KYC.

How to Claim Your CATALYST

If you meet the conditions on the date of the snapshot, claiming is simple.

Once the claim is announced, visit your Claim Page while logged into The Sandbox account linked to the wallet holding the LAND. Your eligible CATALYSTs will be ready for you. Make sure to claim them before the deadline date (claims are available for three months on your Claim page)!

How to Use CATALYSTs to Monetize

You can use CATALYSTs to mint Assets made with VoxEdit in various quantities and rarity tiers. Once minted, you can list the desired amount on The Sandbox Marketplace with a price defined by you! CATALYSTs are your pathway to building unique Experiences in The Sandbox and start earning with your creation.

If you’re a LAND Owner without a The Sandbox account, start by creating one. If you already have an account but haven’t completed KYC, be sure to verify your identity. And if you haven’t published an Experience yet, now is the perfect time to do so to maximize your CATALYST rewards.

Final Notes

This is one of our largest and most thoughtfully balanced CATALYST distributions to date. It introduces significantly more minting potential into the ecosystem, with allocations designed to reward contributions from LAND Owners.
