VoxEdit Contest: LAND Neighborhoods

Design an asset inspired by The Sandbox Neighborhoods to win over 1,250 SAND!*

Theme

We’re kicking off the Neighborhood Asset Contest, where Creators can design assets inspired by the names of The Sandbox neighborhoods. You can build anything that fits the theme, from NPCs and animals to buildings or environmental features.

The winning entry from each neighborhood will be distributed to LAND Owners in that district through a claim, with SAND prizes awarded to the Creators!

We’re starting with 20 neighborhoods, and prizes have been rebalanced to ensure fairer rewards across placements. Usually, you can submit more than one entry, but only place once. Due to the nature of this contest, it will be possible to place twice if you have created an asset for more than one neighborhood.

Prizes 🏆

20,450 SAND will be split amongst the top entries in the following ways:

1st place: 1,250 SAND

2nd place: 1,250 SAND

3rd place: 1,250 SAND

4th to 10th place: Each receives 1100 SAND

11th to 20th place: Each receives 900 SAND

*SAND prizes will now be sent on the Polygon network.

**Participation prize is limited to the first 100 who didn’t place in the top.

IMPORTANT: The top 20 winning assets submitted for this contest will be used as LAND Owner rewards. LAND Owner rewards will be distributed by claims to The Sandbox account associated with the wallet owning the LAND (if you are a LAND Owner without an account on The Sandbox, you will not be able to claim your NFT). The winners will also receive a copy of their winning asset, even if they don’t own LAND.

Please note that by participating, you give consent for your asset to be utilized by The Sandbox for LAND Owner rewards.

Important Dates

-Submissions Open: August 27, 2025.

-Submission deadline: September 12, 2025, at 3 p.m. UTC

-Results announced: September 29-30, 2025

IMPORTANT: You need to complete KYC to receive rewards.

How To Submit Your Entry

-Tweet your asset’s GIF mentioning @VoxEdit and @TheSandboxGame on Twitter. Make sure to include #VoxEdit and #MadeIntheSandbox hashtags in your Tweet.

-To finalize your submission, please fill out the linked Google Form.

⚠️ Important Entry Guidelines

-Low-quality entries or spammed entries with no effort put into their creation will be disqualified at The Sandbox’s discretion. The same goes for attempting to claim other people’s creations as your own — we’ll know.

-Entries containing elements of any kind of discriminative or overly sexualised nature will be disqualified from the contest. Keep it family-friendly.

-Your submission must be original and made entirely by you. You cannot make an ASSET of a character that belongs to someone else (ie, Marvel, Disney, Sega, etc).

-Your entry must be made in The Sandbox’s free VoxEdit software (click here), available on Windows and Mac.

-Make sure you have read and understood the VoxEdit Contest Guidelines.

-You can submit more than one entry.

-Voting will be conducted internally by The Sandbox team.

-By participating, you agree that The Sandbox can use your entry artwork for promotional purposes.

Judging Criteria

Your asset will be judged based on the criteria below. Each criterion follows a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being “very poor” and 5 being “very good”.

-Creativity: How creative was the asset based on the theme?

-Usability: Versatility, different uses/scale/good collider interactions

-Optimization: Does the asset look optimised in The Sandbox Game? Low face and node count is more optimized.

-Aesthetics: Geometry / Shape / Proportion / Colour Palette / Texture / Level of detail)

-Level of Complexity: How difficult is the asset to make?
